About Scott
Scott Geboy's experience includes the regulatory areas applicable to large health care system transactions and operations, principally federal tax exemption, the Stark self-referral regulations, the federal anti-kickback laws and Medicare reimbursement. Supporting this, Scott's practice includes licensure and accreditation, managed care, academic medical center issues, GME, physician structures (medical staff), medical record and electronic record formation and regulation and pharmacy. In addition, Scott has represented clients in reimbursement, billing and compliance for Medicare and Medicaid, including the representation of clients in investigations by the HHS Office of the Inspector General and the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Throughout these areas, Scott's practice focuses on the regulations related to relationships with physicians and physician referral issues, with a special emphasis on payments and compensation arrangements in the organization-to-organization as well as physician employment settings. For the emerging field of telehealth and telemedicine, Scott's practice combines the knowledge of billing and payment, IT and health care transactions to advise clients on innovative structures. Scott has spoken regionally and nationally on topics including GME, telemedicine, compliance programs, health care contracting, physician recruitment, the Stark self-referral regulations and physician compensation.
