About Andrew
Andrew Coats has over two decades of experience in Washington, DC. During this time, Andrew has worked on Capitol Hill, the Bush Administration and in the private sector representing clients in the health care space.
Andrew has been working with Hall Render since 2017 where he has led lobbying efforts for the Alliance for Quality Medical Device Servicing, SSM Heath, the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health and for a number of other health providers. In 2018, Andrew helped write and advocate for the State Offices of Rural Health Reauthorization Act of 2018, which was signed into law as a stand-alone bill. Since joining Hall Render, Andrew has specialized in working with HHS, CMS, FDA, HRSA and Republicans in the House and Senate.
From 2010-2016, Andrew worked with Liberty Partners Group, lobbying clients on health care-related matters and other issues. Andrew was the lead Republican lobbyist for Sandy Hook Promise, where he advocated for a comprehensive mental health reform bill that was signed into law in 2016. Sandy Hook led a coalition of mental health and gun safety organizations that significantly contributed to Congress passing the reform package. Andrew also represented Junior Achievement, the leading financial literacy nonprofit organization, for over five years and the Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare, a coalition of the leading home health care providers.
During his time on the Hill, Andrew was a health Legislative Assistant for an Indiana member of Congress. Andrew began his career in the Bush Administration as a Congressional Liaison under Elaine Chao in the U.S. Department of Labor.
Andrew has a law degree from Indiana University and an undergraduate degree from James Madison University. In his free time, Andrew enjoys golf, is an AAU basketball coach and spending time with his wife and three children.
