Larry Jensen, a Shareholder in Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman’s Michigan office, represents health care providers throughout the country in all aspects of civil litigation, medical staff and physician relations matters, and conducts internal investigations. Mr. Jensen regularly represents hospitals and health systems in medical staff quality review and corrective action processes, fair hearings and related litigation, and also handles employment, general and complex litigation, administrative hearings, arbitrations, commercial disputes and appellate proceedings brought under various federal and state statutes. He frequently counsels clients on matters involving medical staff credentialing and peer review, interpretation and application of hospital and professional licensure rules, medical staff governing bylaws and policies, internal investigations, and risk management and liability issues. He has extensive experience in litigating and resolving matters involving data breach class and collective actions, intellectual property, construction disputes, contract disputes, wage and overtime disputes, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, employment and independent contractor agreements, exemption status and proper classification of workers, and sales commission disputes and claims brought under the False Claims Act, §1983, Title VII, FLSA, ERISA, FMLA, ADEA, ADA and whistleblower statutes. Larry also counsels and advises health care providers on compliance matters, workplace-related issues and personnel practices, EEOC and OSHA investigations, workplace accommodations, workplace training, wage and hour compliance, employee discipline, employee handbook provisions, medical staff relations and general employment policy development and administration.
