Hall Render is pleased to announce that Shareholder John Williams will lead the firm’s new Federal Legislative & Regulatory Advocacy practice group. He is joined by fellow Shareholder John Render and Washington, D.C.-based Of Counsel attorneys Andrew Woods and Andrew Coats, who is the son of Indiana Senator Dan Coats.
Williams was Press Secretary for the House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight in the mid to late 1990s and a member of the Senior Communications Staff Committee during the impeachment proceedings of President Bill Clinton in the House of Representatives. Williams also served as the Chairman’s advisor on domestic policy matters ranging from annual appropriations and budget issues to health care, social security reform and transportation funding. In 1999, he joined the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, a 400,000 person membership association, where he lobbied Capitol Hill on behalf of general aviation and secured the organization not-for-profit status from the United States Postal Service.
Williams completed his undergraduate studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and earned his law degree at George Mason University School of Law. He is admitted to the bar of Indiana and is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, American Health Law Association and the National Republican Lawyers Association.
