How to Avoid Employment Lawsuits…Or Win Them

Synopsis:
This presentation will provide a big picture overview of trends in employment litigation and areas of greatest risk for employers. It will include an important refresher on best human resources practices that help avoid or defend lawsuits. It will include an explanation of the litigation process, how lawsuits typically are handled, ways to “fast-track” litigation to gain early advantage/resolution, and human resources role in that process. In addition, we’ll hit on some hot topics in healthcare employment law, including updating attendees on recent changes to the Colorado non-competition law, providing a high-level look at the current and trending Wage and Hour and Fair Labor Standards Act issues that plague health care employers, and discussing recent EEOC lawsuits and settlements, and what they mean for healthcare employers.
During this session, attendees will:
