Tuesday, April 14 Recap
Note – We believe this is the most up-to-date information available at this time, but it is subject to change as circumstances warrant. Also, all finalized resources can be found on the COVID-19 Resource Center page of Hall Render’s website.
Congressional Outlook
- Today, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell revised the Senate calendar so that members of the upper chamber will now return to Washington on May 4, which is the same day the House is set to resume. Thus, it is unlikely that a fourth stimulus bill will be passed before mid-May.
- While the Senate is set to meet in a proforma session on Thursday, which is the earliest that interim spending legislation could be passed to replenish the Paycheck Protection Program and fund other COVID-19-related measures, negotiations on Capitol Hill have ceased making any action this week unlikely.
CDC Updates Infection Control Guidance
- The CDC updated infection prevention and control recommendations for COVID-19 patients in health care settings.
From the FDA
- The FDA issued guidance for digital health therapeutic devices for treating psychiatric disorders during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
