CMS Releases Interim Final Rule Updating Reporting Requirements in Nursing Homes
- CMS issued an Interim Final Rule updating requirements for notification of confirmed and suspected COVID-19 cases in nursing homes.
From the FDA
- FDA released guidance on “Notifying the Center for Devices and Radiological Health of a Permanent Discontinuance or Interruption in Manufacturing of a Device.” This is intended to assist manufacturers in providing notifications to the FDA about changes in the production of certain medical device products that will help the Agency prevent or mitigate shortages of such devices during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
- Additionally, on May 11, 2020 from 2:00-3:00 PM EDT, the FDA will host a webinar for medical device manufacturers and others interested in learning more about the guidance.
Congressional Outlook
- House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said today the House could vote as early as next week on stimulus legislation authored by House Democrats. Hoyer indicated that while differences over the legislation that exist within in the House Democratic caucus are still being resolved, a draft of the bill is still expected to be released this week.
