CMS Provides Nursing Home Guidance for Assessing and Reopening

  • CMS issued frequently asked questions on nursing home reopening recommendations. 

Health Care Groups Release “Re-entry Guidance for Health Care Facilities and Medical Device Representatives”

CDC Distributes Funds to Expand COVID-19 Testing Capacity

  • The CDC delivered almost $11 billion in new funding to support testing for COVID-19. The funds will be distributed to states, territories and local jurisdictions through CDC’s existing Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases cooperative agreement.

HHS Partners to make COVID-19 Drug Ingredients, Generics in U.S.

  • HHS announced a $354 million agreement with a private partnership to make more active pharmaceutical ingredients and generic drugs in the United States to treat patients hospitalized with COVID-19 and prevent shortages of products.

OSHA Adopts Revised Enforcement Policies for COVID-19

Congressional Outlook

  • While the Senate is in session, the House remains in recess. There are no scheduled votes on coronavirus-related legislation and none is expected until after Memorial Day.
