In December, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) released an initial series of videos aimed at providers that focus on compliance issues. These videos are part of the Health Care Fraud Prevention and Enforcement Action Team (HEAT) Provider Compliance Training initiative. Health & Human Services Inspector General Daniel Levinson stated the videos are intended to help providers further enhance their compliance efforts.
The initial four videos deal with Exclusion Authorities and Effects of Exclusion, Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and the Physician Self-Referral Law.
Beginning this week, further compliance videos are expected to be released dealing with a wide range of topics that can affect post-acute providers. The first new video this week describes where to find published guidance by the OIG to assist providers in maintaining compliance.
The full list of videos is available on the OIG website.
