The Nursing Home Compare website, originally launched in 1998, is set to launch with a redesign July 19th. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) claims the redesign adopts industry design and usability best practices while also incorporating a considerable amount of new information to increase transparency and usability for consumers.
The redesigned website will include many new types of information previously unavailable. This includes:
- Quality measures based on MDS 3.0 data. Additionally, CMS will include data on the use of anti-psychotic medications.
- Detailed CMS-2567 forms.
- CMS will post information on the legal business names of nursing homes to increase ownership transparency.
- Physical therapist hours per resident will be reported.
Nursing home providers should be able to preview their information now.
