2015 Meaningful Use Attestation Deadline Extended

Posted on February 11, 2016 in Health Information Technology

This week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (“CMS”) announced that the attestation deadline for the Medicare Electronic Health Record Incentive Program (“Meaningful Use Program”) is changed from February 29, 2016 to March 11, 2016.

The new deadline applies to all eligible professionals, eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals participating in the Meaningful Use Program. Participants in the Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Program should consult with the applicable state authority on the applicable Medicaid attestation deadline. Providers who intend to attest should remember that CMS anticipates and warns of delays and heavy network traffic leading up to the attestation deadline.
