Hall Render's health law focus extends to assisting hospital foundations and other charities with the tax and other legal aspects of establishing and operating these important fundraising organizations. Our attorneys have extensive experience dealing with the IRS and with state tax authorities to assist our clients in obtaining regulatory approvals to set up proper charitable entities for their needs and objectives. We are familiar with recent IRS guidelines and regulations that must be satisfied in order to establish charitable foundations, supporting organizations and other charitable institutions for hospitals and other clients, including individuals who wish to establish their own private foundations.

After incorporating and obtaining tax-exempt status, these charitable organizations must continue to operate consistently with numerous federal and state laws and regulations to avoid tax and other legal problems, including potential penalties against the charity and its managers. They also must file various federal and state returns, including the Form 990. Our attorneys can confidently advise our charitable clients in understanding and following these complicated laws and in making their required filings. Hall Render's attorneys stand prepared to assist and defend our clients in the event of questions or challenges from any tax authorities or other governmental regulators.
