About Calvin

Calvin Chambers focuses his practice in the areas of tax, employee benefits and corporate transactions. Working with a variety of health care clients, including hospitals, health systems and physician practice groups, Calvin assists clients in finding practical solutions to the unique challenges they face.

Calvin devotes significant attention to client issues concerning tax and tax exemption, including obtaining and maintaining tax exemption, private benefit and private inurement concerns, excess benefit transactions, unrelated business income tax exposure, state and local sales tax compliance and corporate, partnership and employment tax matters. On the employee benefits side, Calvin focuses on matters such as health care reform compliance, fringe benefits, the design and compliance aspects of retirement plans (qualified retirement plans, 403(b) plans and nonqualified deferred compensation plans) and matters involving welfare benefit plans. He also advises health care providers on business and transaction matters, including hospital/physician joint ventures, acquisition of medical practices and corporate governance.

Calvin is actively involved with the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana, serving on the Board as Treasurer. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife and three children. Outside of work, Calvin oversees the management of his family farm, where he raises Black Angus cattle.
