Virtual Care – Behavioral Health Regulatory Update and Navigating Common Challenges
Most agree that virtual options in relation to behavioral health just make sense. The increased access, convenience and privacy offered through virtual care have led to a dramatic increase in virtual encounters, as well as record reductions in client no-shows. Of course, the increased use of virtual care in this arena has prompted significant regulatory change, both in terms of professional practice requirements and reimbursement. Notably, the use of virtual care has also raised significant questions in relation to pre-existing behavioral health requirements, which often pre-date the advent of virtual care. This presentation will highlight these regulatory considerations, payment updates and regulatory challenges in an effort to assist providers to identify and navigate the same.
